I explored the hills and vineyards of the stunning Malibu Family Wines Ranch with Shane. The Ranch is massive and presents a unique opportunity to explore the authentic Malibu countryside, which boasts sites of historic interest, distinct rock formations, scenic vineyards, mansions and a host of rare wildlife and animals. Shane is a gentleman, well educated and with a great sense of humour. I'd recommend a hike with him for the most authentic Malibu experience.

From the gorgeous vistas and grape vine hillsides, to the star giraffe (on Instagram: a_giraffe_named_stanley) and super friendly staff (they customize the hikes to fit your needs/wants), the Malibu Wine Hikes have become one of my favorite things to do in SoCal. Every time I have friends or family visit from out of town, we take them up to Malibu Family Wines for a hike on the gorgeous thousand acre property. The best part isn't the hike itself, it's the whole drinking awesome wine while hiking, while seeing animals that one typically only finds in Africa, while drinking awesome wine (the author may have been drinking wine during this post). It's an all around awesome activity to do while in Malibu. I highly recommend you give it a shot.

Malibu family wines was such a fun Sunday. We went to the winery with our picnic lunch and got a great table in the shade right next to the live band. We grabbed a few bottles of their delicious wine which is always one of my favorite wines. We sat and drank wine and listened to the great band all afternoon. It was such a great day with our friends. We had visited them once before over at the ranch. We did one of their wine tours. They have so many animals that you would never usually see. Horses, llamas, buffalo, zebras and of course the best was Stanley the Giraffe. We fed him bananas and it was such a great experience. Thanks so much to Shane our tour guide. It was such a memorable day. I highly recommend anyone looking for a fun day out to head to Malibu Family Wines.
