Enjoy the Boston's history, vibrant atmosphere and wonderful architecture on this 2-hr Guided Walking Tour of the Downtown Freedom Trail between Faneuil Hall and Boston Common and then travel on to Copley Square in Back Bay via Beacon Hill. The Downtown Boston portion of the popular Freedom Trail features many of the locations of historical significance to the United States including the Old State House, Old Granary Burial Ground, and the site of the Boston Massacre. We will then see where the Boston aristocracy lives on Beacon Hill on our way to the Boston Public Garden and see the Victorian brownstones in historic Back Bay. See the famous Cheers restaurant, Newbury Street and Commonwealth Avenue on our way to the Boston Marathon Finish Line. Other top highlights include: Old & New State Houses, Boston Massacre Site, Old & New City Halls, Old South Meeting House, King's Chapel, Park Street Church, Beacon Hill, Boston Public Garden, Swan Boats, Boston Public Library, Trinity Church.

This trail is easy to follow and packed with historic landmarks and facts. There are lots of opportunities to indulge in museums - Paul Revere's house, the State House and North End Church to name a few. I began the trail at 9am and finished at 3.30pm. I walked from Boston Common end to Bunker's Hill. Fanuiel Hall is a must and if you get there around 10.30 there is a free tour to the Old State House with a good description of the activities surrounding this area during the revolution.

Our guide - I think his name was Steve - knew an incredible amount about Boston’s history and delivered it at times with a dry ironic humour, which added to the interest. We did the full tour which took us to the Marathon finishing line, and enjoyed it all. I’m sure we would have learnt just a fraction of what we did if we’d walked the Trail without him.
