We have gone on the dolphin watching cruise for several years and we have never disappointed. The crew is informative and friendly. We have seen many dolphins on every trip.

Trip was nice. We saw dolphins almost immediately. We didn't see whales, but I didn't expect to. I am pretty sure in July whales are near cape cod and they spend the winter in the Caribbean. I think you would only spot whales for a few weeks a year in this area. I would stick with the 2 hour dolphin tour and not do the 3 hour dolphin and whale tour.

How many dolphins do you think you will see when journey a short distance into the Delaware Bay and into the Atlantic Ocean? I was very surprised at the number of dolphins and how close to shore they really are. Due to a storm the night before and the rough ocean, the captain took us through a canal into the Delaware Bay and into the Atlantic for a short distance. Within a minute of leaving the canal, we were seeing dolphins. What an exciting adventure. The captain was very knowledgeable about the dolphins and provided interesting facts. Due to the rough waters, we came back through the canal into the harbor for a tour of Cape May. While I would have loved to stay out in the ocean, safety comes first. The captain provided a full 2-hour tour. Beautiful pictures of the sunset while on the ocean. Cape May Whale Watcher offers morning and evening trips (2-hours) and a 3-hour afternoon trip. There is an area of the ship for dinner cruises. The also offer fishing boat tours into the Atlantic for fishermen. I paid half price for the trip using a Groupon deal. Also, watch for deals on the Cape May Whale Watcher website. They guarantee you will see marine life or you will be offered another trip. Board the ship 1/2 hour prior to departure time. Snack bar and restrooms are available on the ship. Voyages into the ocean take place from March through early December; weather-permitting. Take 2nd or 3rd Street off Route 109 into Cape May. A small gift shop sits in front and a ticket booth off to the side. A small restroom is available on site as well as a waiting area. Parking is free. Bottom Line: I highly recommend taking the boat ride into the ocean, whether you enjoy watching for dolphins, experiencing the ocean or watching the sunset.
