I was in Wildwood for the weekend (may 20 and 21st) . I was looking through a hotel book searching for some dinner restaurant ideas. Instead I came upon a ful page ad for this company. Along with a code for buy one ticket, get the second half off. I quickly made the reservation online and purchased the tickets. I didn't have to print anything, which was good since I was on vacation and that was no available to me.
I chose the 1pm 3 hour whale and dolphin tour. Guaranteed sightings. I wasn't too intersted in the dolphins, although we ended up sseeing tons of those.I was there for the whales! I was starting to get a little disappointed halfway in, but after that we did see a humpback come out of the water. Although i only saw the tail (the boat was so crowded, especially in all the good viewing parts) , it was breathtaking.
The boat was nice. It was big, had the first deck enclosed and heated, with snacks and drinks- both non alcoholic and alcoholic. You could walk along the edge of the boat and some seats were cushioned, with benches along the top window areas.
It was a good experience overall, with some nice views of cape may looking in. The staff seemed very knowlegeable and were friendly and fun.
The only complaint were all the foreign tourists getting pushy trying to get a view of the water, and not being respectful of space.
I am glad I saw the ad and got the discount. I could extend my vacation and got to see a whale. There were other whale sightings , you could find them from the blow, but they did not come out of the water. I was disappointed I only got a glimpse of one, this was the time for the big show, where you should have seen them. Instead it sounds like the 11am dolphin tour saw all the whales. Someone coming off that boat while we were in line said they saw many whales. Figures, but it was an experience I was glad to have had the opportunity to do.
The weather was unseasonably cold, so it was quite chilly out on the water with the breeze. The heated indoor area of the boat was way too packed to be of use, unfortunately. I'd still recommend it, although it might be more enjoyable on warm days :) Worth bringing a sweatshirt or jacket. When you're out that far and in the open areas, it does get cold! Even if it wasn't cold when you left.
