This was our first time to San Juan Island and we enjoyed every bit of the trip. By far, the most noteworthy activity was this whale watching tour! We lucked out booking this last minute, not really knowing what to expect, especially with the weather. It really worked out well - and not only was the weather absolutely gorgeous (we went Labor Day weekend) but there were PLENTY of humpback whale sightings, including a rather close one coming directly towards the boat and swimming under us! Lots of action! We also saw several porpoises swimming around and a chubby seal perched on a rock near land, soaking in the rays. Captain Gabe was a lot of fun and a really great host, as were the other naturalists on board. We would definitely do this again! In fact, we may just make this an annual trip. Kid-friendly, medium size boat, not too crowded - would recommend to anyone!

We took the tour on November 1, 2015 and it was near the end of the season but we seen the most spectacular sightings with 2 pods of whales, a small calf and the whales were breaching the water like salmon swimming up stream. It was almost spiritual. The crew did a great job and the naturalists love these animals so much it was interesting and I loved watching the naturalists be as excited as I was watching these beautiful creatures. Thank you so much...wow is all I can say...!

Our trip to San Juan Island in 2014 was simply amazing, and the whale watch tour was definitely a highlight. When we returned in 2015, the experience was even better! Spectacular sightings of numerous different whales - and the naturalists were fantastic! We can't wait to go back again!
