Horribly disappointed with the company. We have booked one day or whale watching and a second day of deep sea fishing, months in advance. This was a wish trip for our nine year old son who completed 3.5 years of cancer treatment.
Upon arriving for whale watching, we were first told there was no reservation for us. We were then told that they had cancelled the fishing trip and had “been trying to get a hold of us.” Funny that there had been no calls, texts, or messages to me or the travel agent who had booked everything. Yet suddenly, at the exact moment we were there, they sent a cancellation email.
We were told they “didn’t have a boat” and could we go on Friday. We explained we were leaving Friday and that this was a special trip. Isn’t it their JOB to make sure there’s a boat when a reservation for four people is made six months in advance?
We were then told to “go see if there’s another company who could do it.” Wouldn’t etiquette dictate that THEY should help us find another company to help rectify the situation?
There was ZERO help, they acted annoyed and rude with the whole situation. Poor service, poor attitude, and for what had been paid….there are many other whale watching companies there on the pier that would have likely welcomed our business.
The captain of the boat was also rude when our little boy asked to use the bathroom and flat out said no. When our little boy then asked the helper where could in fact go, the helper immediately took him to the same bathroom the captain had just said no to. The captain was rude to other customers also.
I’d avoid this company and will not recommend it to our other friends traveling to Monterey next month.
