On August 30Th there was a down poor in Kihei, but we showed up for the tour, as rain comes and goes on Hawai …glad we did! Captain Erin and his crew, Mike and Erin were great! There was no rain on the way out, and we even got to see the backside of Molokini. We went on the Wiki tour, which is the best bang for the buck, because you really don’t stay in the water that long as it starts to get cold after 30 min or so. On the way out you get a continental breakfast of a few slices of pineapple, orange, and a croissant, and a drink of your choice. At lunch you have your choice of Huli huli chicken, beef burger, impossible burger or a hot dog, with Mac and Cole slaw, and one alcoholic beverage…my wife and I enjoyed the chicken as it was not a patty, but a slap of chicken! They provide fins, mask, and life jackets, but there’s so much salt in the water, you don’t need a jacket because you float naturally. As to the parking, it’s $3.00 an hour, and we got back right at 11:15, after walking to the car, I’d recommend doing 5hrs to be safe. You meet at their office, which is in the same area as the Maui Aquarium, check in then walk to the boat. Some people arrive at 7:00 with no problem….hope this helps you on deciding what tour to take, but honestly, the wiki tour is the best deal out there right now and the staff is A-1!! I’ll do the wild side tour next time for sure!
