We made reservations to participate in a morning sled dog ride and joined about six others for this experience in late May, 2018. Our guide was very informative and allowed us to ask many questions after her presentation. We met many of the dogs and enjoyed a two mile sled dog ride with several brief stops along the way. It was fun to also meet some two-week old puppies. This tour was very helpful to understand the life of those who continue the legacy of sled dog competitions.

Elyssa was an absolute wonderful tour guide. Her knowledge and experience regarding sled dogs was amazing. She answered every question our group had for her and made all of us very appreciative of the hard work and dedication that the mushers and the dogs put forth during training for the Iditarod. She walked with us to and from Exit Glacier and had lunch with us at Resurrection Roadhouse. The Seavey family is very blessed to have such a great person on their team.

Because of her love of dogs, my daughter and I decided to check this place out while in Seward. The reservation process and check in were quick and easy. We didn't use the free shuttle service as we had rented a car. The location was easy to find though. There are outdoor toilets available in the parking area. They provide coffee for those of us who like to stay warm. As far as the tour itself goes, we were impressed by the tour guide, Meredith's, knowledge and the fact that she participated in the Iditarod herself this year. The sled ride was a cart type thing that 8 of us sat in with the dogs pulling us around a trail in the woods. It was really cool to see how the dogs responded to the musher. We were able to pet the dogs afterwards and hold the puppies which was a huge plus for my daughter. We moved to a building filled with items related to the Iditarod including the sled made by Mitch Seavey whose family races in and often wins the Iditarod. There was an indoor restroom available in that building. Overall, it was a great experience that I would recommend highly. We're so glad we decided to do it!
