We had a Monument Valley tour with just 4 of us today. From the moment we met Clyde Johnson, our guide, we knew we were in for a wonderful adventure. Clyde introduced himself in his native Navajo language and thus began a deep dive into both the scenery of Monument Valley and the cultural and historical significance of everything we saw. Clyde has a marvelous sense of humor and had us laughing at the various images he pointed out in the rock formations - Alfred Hitchcock's face?! So true, so hysterical! We learned of the importance of the Navajos' relationship with nature and were moved deeply by one of his prayer-like songs. I am certain that visitors could walk away from this tour with whatever simple or complex meaning the majesty of Monument Valley might evoke. All of us could have spent the rest of the day seeing the rocks formations and hearing Clyde's stories, many of which he credits to ancestors that taught him. I hope we get a chance to come back and do this again. 5 stars is not enough praise for Clyde and Dineh Bekeyah Tours!

John (tour guide) brought the experience to life. He was an amazing combination of cultural anthropologist, geologist, and photography instructor. As a Navajo, he gave us an insider's view of the people who inhabited this land. The scenery is spectacular, and the context John provided made it and incredible experience. The guided tours visit places you can't go on your own. Well worth it!

The only way to see Monument Valley! We had John as our guide and he went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. We learned about the formations and the history of the area. Amazing stories and awesome adventure!
