The Local Tour is a two-hour guided snowmobile tour and is our most popular day tour. On the Local Tour, you will experience driving your very own snowmobile in the beautiful Goldstream Valley and learn what it’s like to live as an Alaskan: dry cabins, winter travel, and sub-arctic exposure. The valley is home to many local dog mushers, snowshoers, cross country skiers, fat bikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts alike. On the Local Tour, you will navigate through spruce forests, cruise over frozen lakes, ponds, creeks, and tundra, and feel the thrill of shredding some deep powder!

All gear is provided and includes snow boots, snow bibs, mittens, balaclavas, helmets, and goggles. The total tour duration is 2.5 hours and includes 30 minutes of gearing up and a short tutorial on how to safely operate your snowmobiles, followed by a full 2-hour guided tour in the Goldstream Valley. Beginners are welcomed and encouraged!

Never been on a snow machine before, so I was worried. Jeremy explained how to operate the machines and I was still sure I was going to hit a tree. Got stuck within 5 minutes, but Jeremy was so patient. About halfway through, I realized I was having a good time. The combination of slowly winding trails and time at the open field gave me the confidence to have a great time on the twisty, tight trails during the last half. Every person on our tour managed to get stuck at some point and Jeremy just matter of factly helped them out. Bonus, a couple of skiers asked for our help moving a mamma moose and her calves. Got mock charged by the momma moose. Scary, but a great story. As a complete novice, I highly recommend Snow Sleighers.

Too much fun!! I always try to snowmobile when doing trips in the wintertime and this tour was perfect! Jeremy made sure that the gear fit well and explained the Arctic Cat machines to each of us. Such beautiful scenery to zip around in. Jeremy always made sure we were doing fine and would stop for photos too. Highly recommend Fairbanks Snow Sleighers when in Fairbanks.

This was such a fun experience! I can’t remember the names of the two guys we had, but they were so awesome! Super friendly and laid back. I was nervous at first, because I have never seen a snowmobile in real life, much less driven one. They explained how everything works and let us take our time starting out. Once we got comfortable, it was great! We had a blast! I would 10/10 recommend these guys!
