I was excited about my first time of horse riding. And was expecting to make a great memory out of this experience.
At first, our guide seemed to be really nice person, yet, once he opened up his mouth, about half of the information was spoken about unfortunate history of Navajo people. It sounded like because of invasion of Caucasian, they have miserable life today. Maybe it is true, and I respect and feel sorry for what has happened. And that last about 15 min. We spent about 45 hearing not so interesting info in total. Wished at least the information was much more fascinating.
It would be okay to share some of the unfortunate history since that is true, but sharing too much of his pessimistic view about the history, but to much of it would not lift up tourists to have a great impression and also to have wonderful memory for the day.
Nevertheless, riding itself was safe. The guide was making sure safety well.
I wished I didn't go for horse riding here, the experience ruined my my day at monument valley. Should have left the place after the scenic drive. And I no longer want to try horse riding any place any more. Going for horse riding is not cheap, the experience didn't worth $220 for two of us and tip.
And I also wished they picked up the phone, so I wouldn't have to drove to wrong destination.
