What To Expect
1
West And East Mitten Buttes
We’ll begin our journey with a scenic ride to The Mittens, also known as the West and East Mitten Buttes. Enjoy stunning views and learn about the geological significance of these iconic landmarks. When viewed from the south, the buttes appear to be two gigantic mittens with their thumbs facing inwards.
2
Sentinel Mesa
It’s often referred to as the “watchtower” of the valley due to its towering presence and strategic location. Standing at 6,200 feet, it has been a natural landmark for centuries, guiding both the Navajo people and early explorers. During horseback tours, riders can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding desert, and the mesa’s distinct shape often evokes the image of a lone sentinel keeping watch over the land. It’s a popular stop for photography, offering stunning vistas of the iconic red rock formations.

A great experience, we are already planning a return trip. The staff and guide were incredibly understanding of a a scheduling mix-up that was entirely our fault. Laid back and friendly, our guide offered bits of knowledge about the history and details that make this area so magical. The horses were gentle, forgiving and pleasant.

Absolutely fantastic tour! Ethan was great and we had a lot of fun! The whole staff is very kind and helpful and the horses we got were well trained and easy to get along with! The route is definitely worth it, seeing the valley from a new point of view you simply cannot have from the car!
