I must say, when you aren't from around here and google "whale watching tours" and a LOT all pop up next to each other, it's a tough pick. I did my research and am SO GLAD I did! This being my first whale watching tour, I was unsure what to expect, but I walked away at the end more than satisfied. I felt like I learned more, definitely saw what I came for and also felt like I was on a boat with a bunch of my buddies. The crew (shoutout Isaiah, Kevin and captain Danny) were the absolute best! They chatted with everyone and got to know us all. I loved the casual conversations and how comfortable it was (it wasn't some "uppity" boat ride where you stay in your seat and keep quiet).
On our trip we saw Harbor Seals, Dolphins, and Humpback Whales! So freaking awesome! I loved that they used everyone on board to help be spotters (I started getting pretty good at it). I loved how it wasn't super crowded on board and it was just wonderful. Minus the chill (if you're sweating back on the dock, don't let that fool you- bring gloves and a heavy jacket for the ride back), I could've stayed out there all day.
The tour is all ages friendly, and you can bring food and drink aboard and they also sell drinks (hot cocoa, coffee, alcohol). The crew was also nice (I guess they have to be) when it comes to people getting sick. They cleaned up fast and were very attentive. We had a few "man down"s, but no big deal.
They are also huge into protecting the beautiful species that live in the ocean and were able to stop and pick a Mylar balloon out of the water during our tour, to avoid it being eaten by some poor unsuspecting creature. Gave me more respect for them for not just being about the money, but for protecting these magnificent creatures.
I cannot stress how much you need to choose this tour! The boat is even super nice (facilities on board if needed), and just felt like a day out on the water with friends. I'm envious of their jobs. Definitely using them next time I'm on this side of the country again.
