4-часовой частный геологический тур в национальном парке Роки-Маунтин

Обзор
In the comfort of your own vehicle, our knowledgeable step-on geologist guide, Ranger Rod, will direct you through Rocky Mountain National Park. He will take photos of your group's adventure as you travel through time in RMNP witnessing evidence of major rock and mineral forming processes that took place billions of years ago. Discover ancient mountains that started rising shortly after the dinosaurs went extinct, as well as landscape formed by later volcanic eruptions. More recently (in geologic time) learn how the mountains were sculpted by massive ice age glaciers and about early human history after the valley glaciers covering the area melted 12 thousand years ago. Seeing these natural wonders through the eyes of an experienced local geologist, will evolve your worldview of mountain landscapes and enhance future RMNP adventures.

6 hour tour times are only available in the summertime when Trail Ridge Rd is open, 4 hour tour reservations are available year-round.

Beaver Meadows Visitor Center
Upon meeting Ranger Rod at the BMVC, you will explore a 3D map located in the building's basement to get good orientation of the park and its formations before passing through the RMNP entrance gate.
3
Rocky Mountain National Park
On your geologic tour of RMNP you will: be oriented to the park using 3D Maps explaining major geologic topography; explore evidence of the powerful tectonic, volcanic, and glacial forces that created the park’s landscape; decipher the geologic story behind the breathtaking scenic vistas of the park’s best overlooks and active wildlife habitats; learn how to recognize major RMNP rocks and minerals, including metamorphic Gneiss and Schist, and intrusive and volcanic rocks from inner earth; locate 5 ancient glacial valleys and today’s 8 named glaciers along with prominent peaks, and the park’s 3 mountain ranges. Relive Indigenous American legacies dating back over 11 thousand years and colorful pioneer history starting in 1800’s.

Full Potential Wilderness has found a gem in guide, Rod Strand. Rod’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the geology of Rocky Mountain National Park is palpable. He not only understands the complex science of the park’s formations, but delves into the intriguing history of its human inhabitants. In addition, many “must see” highlights of RMNP are incorporated into Rod’s Geo Tour. My husband and I feel that this tour will engage any age group. All in all it’s a great way to spend half a day in this majestic park.

Ranger Rod in the Rockies I’ve enjoyed Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) so many times over the course of my life. As a child, I cherished all the visits when my family used the area to picnic, fish, hike and just hang out. It was a welcome break from town and a quick drive from home. As a local, I learned some of the history of the Park and enjoyed looking at the rocks and the river. But my view of the Park was forever changed after a tour with Rod Strand. I knew little of the geological episodes or of the names of the rocks and the resulting formations created over time until he shared his incredible knowledge and his inspiring views of what occurred in this area. I will never look at any of this in the same way and I certainly appreciate it much more now. Rod’s extensive educational background in geology provides the foundation for the view which he is able to share. But it’s his true enjoyment and personal fascination with the creation of this spectacular beauty that visitors to the Park can enjoy. Rod not only imparts factual information, he adds his unique sense of humor and energy to each tour. I was so pleased with Rod’s inimitable trip through RMNP. Kay Rios

Ranger Rod’s tour gave us a totally different appreciation for Rocky Mountain National Park through geologic time. Beyond the majestic mountains, rivers, and wildlife, RMNP has a unique geo history that a park visitor may never realize. Hundreds of millions years in development, Ranger Rod painted a picture of how tectonics, glaciers, wind and water formed one of our most amazing parks. These fantastic learnings and information were accentuated by Ranger Rod’s passion for the science and history of the park. His enthusiasm and humor made the day even more enjoyable. Memories made on this adventure will be lifetime.
