Wear good walking shoes as you travel up and down through history, exploring all the quirky and creative nooks that make Eureka Springs so charming. Guests will walk above the Park to see the original location of the Basin Park Spring that was used for healing during the 1880's. They will also see where the Spring is now in the basin of the Park.

Guests will walk up to the Flatiron Building and learn about the history of this iconic (and most photographed) location and the trick about it. Following that they walk up to where the first bank robbery using a vehicle was committed, stories about the three fires, and the history of the Prohibition Era in Downtown Eureka Springs. Venturing further down a secret set of steps that is also a platted street they learn about Carrie Nation who gave her last temperance speech before passing away in Kansas.

I am 9 years old and my favorite part was when they talked about Norman Baker. It was very interesting and awesome. Plus, our tourer person was awesome.

Well, thank you for taking the tour. Norman Baker was a total creep - and makes for a GREAT story! Sometimes I can't believe what he got up to in our little town. The tour was actually called Downtown Underground Eureka Springs. Our guide, David, showed us the history of this city from the first settlers ruining the environment causing mud everywhere to present day Eureka Springs which has 50+ miles of retaining walls. We met some famous and infamous characters. I loved the story of Carrie Nation’s time in Eureka Springs. The bank robbery (sorta) was a great tale. The tour is suitable for all ages. David made the past history come alive.

A fascinating experience for us on the unique history of the town. Our guide was David who was extremely well versed in the history of the bldgs people and events that made ES what it is today. His special added humor made it fun as well. Highly recommended for history buffs and a eat way to exercise before or after dinner. He is well versed on each store and restaurants and happy to make recommendations the two he recommended were spot on
