Guests will walk above the Park to see the original location of the Basin Park Spring that was used for healing during the 1880's. They will also see where the Spring is now in the basin of the Park.

Guests will walk up to the Flatiron Building and learn about the history of this iconic (and most photographed) location and the trick about it. Following that they walk up to where the first bank robbery using a vehicle was committed, stories about the three fires, and the history of the Prohibition Era in Downtown Eureka Springs. Venturing further down a secret set of steps that is also a platted street they learn about Carrie Nation who gave her last temperance speech before passing away in Kansas.

Awesome tour and the guide was great! You learn a lot about the downtown Eureka area and the history that drew so many to the numerous springs! Not so much underground though and that is why it is 4 out of 5. You go underground for the last 15ish minutes at the end and I was looking forward to more beneath the surface but overall great tour!!

Wonderful historical walking tour! The guide was informative and fun. Needed more about the underground. Lots of stairs, but several breaks to catch your breath and listen to the stories. Loved it!

I'm glad you gave it a chance! (And you are right - there ARE a lot of stairs! It's why they used to call us the "Stairstep Town.) This was a fabulous experience! Our tour guide was engaging, funny, and informative! My only let down was the lack of actual underground time.

Thanks! The guides really put their heart and soul into these tours. We know folks would LOVE to go on a hard hat adventure of downtown underground, but it's just not safe. We hope you learned about our three underground systems - the caves & karst system, the Leatherwood Creek system, and the Mud Street build-up. I don't know how many tiny historic downtowns have a river running under their courthouse... that's pretty gosh darn special. That said, thanks again for taking the tour. - Main Street Eureka Springs Your ticket provides the local Main Street 501c3 nonprofit funding to continue developing and preserving Downtown Eureka Springs.
