This tour was indeed a highlight of our recent cruise! Not only did we experience walking in the gorgeous Alaskan landscape, but we also had the fantastic opportunity to learn so much about the indigenous culture and history. Our guide, Dan, was knowledgeable and shared so much rich information on everything, from the stories behind the totems at the lovely Totem Bight State Historical Park and which plants were edible or used in making medicines. Above that, Dan was also incredibly kind and generous. He went above and beyond with our tour group, took us to the charming downtown Ketchikan area after our tour was completed, and took us back to our cruise ship afterward so we could spend more time there. So if you find yourself in this beautiful city, take this tour!

Interesting, local perspective on the native culture of the area. We enjoyed a beautiful day to see the totems and clan house in Totem Bight. Very few other people were there so we had easy viewing inside the clan house and around the totems. Plenty of time for pictures. Learned about how wild-growing medicinal plants are used and enjoyed a short hike into the forest. I got some beautiful pictures of the woods and the redwood water pipeline.
