We took our kids (ages 11-22) on the Outer Islands Whale Watching Excursion out of Anacortes, Wa and we loved it. We had the 3:30 trip time, the boat had plenty of comfy seating for everyone inside and lots of viewing space outside.
The weather was drizzly and overcast but the rain stopped as our boat headed out. The overcast sky made it easier to spot wildlife.
Our Naturalists Brooke and Ellen were awesome, especially enjoyed all the stories and information Brooke shared with us. Matt the Captain was friendly and shared info and answered questions while we stood near the wheelhouse watching the whales.
We saw bald eagles, tons of other birds, a California sea lion, "Scratchy" the humpback whale, orcas and even an elusive minke whale on the way back.
We were lucky enough to get to see a pod of 6 orcas. What an incredible experience. Would highly recommend them.
