Travel along one of the world’s most isolated roads from Fairbanks to the Arctic Circle on this memorable 12 to 14-hour tour through the Alaskan wilderness.

In the company of an experienced guide with a passion for Alaska, journey up the Dalton Highway, passing by the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, crossing the Yukon River, and reaching the edge of the Arctic Circle. On the drive back, watch for the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).

This tour is limited to 9 guests to ensure that you enjoy a small-group experience in one of our climate-controlled vans.

Please note that we cannot guarantee the Northern Lights sightings and we can't guarantee last minute bookings.

We do encourage each guest to rotate seats at least a few times on this tour.

  • Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural occurrence and therefore cannot be guaranteed! (no refund possible)
  • The weather conditions are in no way predictable in our area and we will not offer a refund in case of too many clouds.
  • Exact schedule and itinerary of stops are subject to change based on daily conditions and Northern Lights activity on the day of your tour.
  • There is a possibility of cancellation due to dangerous weather and/or road conditions. If this occurs, an alternative date or full refund will be offered.
  • Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required. We are not able to provide gluten free or vegan options as there is limited availability of these items in Alaska.
  • Type of transportation: climate controlled van
  • The group size is limited to 8 people for each passenger van.
  • Customers are strongly encouraged to rotate seats at least a few times on the tour to give each person the opportunity of having a different view.
  • This tour requires being able to enter and exit our van with limited assistance. Please contact us if you have any concerns about mobility.

It's an amazing thing to do before you die. The guide gave detailed information that was very fun. The way is quite long but not boring at all because there are interesting points along the way. Every stop was beyond expectations. It was like a dream come true. Throughout the return journey we saw the Northern Lights very often and the guide stopped at many places to capture this impressive moment. I guess there were 3 places or more which were very beautiful.

Wonderful tour!! We experienced alot, Colleen was a wealth of information and very fun!! It was an extremely long day/night and would have thought there would have been 2 drivers, extremely long drive day.

We had a disappointing experience. The van broke down due to coolant failure, leaving us stranded in freezing conditions for over 4 hours. The tour couldn’t continue, and no apology was given from the owner, which felt very unprofessional. However, our guide Jessica was extremely polite and helpful throughout the situation. She did her best to keep everyone calm and comfortable. Sadly, the overall experience was unsafe and not worth the risk.

Sandhya, We did indeed have a van break down the other night. We operate numerous vehicles on rough roads for 11 months out of the year, and breakdowns will unfortunately inevitably occur at some point with a busy schedule. We employ a full-time mechanic who inspects and maintains all vehicles daily, but breakdowns can still happen even with the most diligent of care. In over 13 years of operation, this has only happened a few times, giving us a pretty good record of reliability. We do regret that this impacted your tour and we have issued 100% refunds to all passengers that were on this trip. The business owner was not there when a rescue van was brought out. The overnight rescue team that night consisted of a mechanic and our assistant manager. These two individuals had already worked a full day and then had to drive 4 hours up the Dalton to deliver your rescue van. I believe they spoke with a few of the passengers, but there was not time to visit individually with everyone on that tour and they were mostly focused on transferring everything to the new van and making sure the tour guide had everything she needed to continue. These individuals also still had to drive 4 hours back on very unforgiving roads in the middle of the night and then get up to come to work the very next morning. We do apologize if they did not get to speak with you personally, but they were quite focused on the job they needed to do at the time. While the temperatures were in the 20’s the night of your tour, the heated van was running, and the propane heater we stock the vans with for emergencies was in full use. Again, we do apologize that your tour van broke down, but no one was in any danger, and all of our safety precautions worked as intended. Fortunately, this month has been unseasonably warm, and the temperatures that night were far above what they would normally be. We sincerely regret that this rare breakdown affected your tour, but we did everything in our power to keep you safe and warm while a new van was being brought out to the Dalton Highway.
