The Old North Church is a must-see Freedom Trail destination! Founded in 1723, Old North is the oldest still-standing church building in the city of Boston. Old North is world famous for the events of April 18, 1775, when allies of Paul Revere held two lanterns in the church's steeple as a signal that British troops were heading to Lexington and Concord "by sea" across the Charles River. This momentous act ignited the American Revolution.

Discover Old North Church's secrets and stories with our immersive audio tour! Available in English or Spanish, the tour weaves together the story of Paul Revere’s famous lantern signal with recent research into the lives of Old North’s early congregants. Visitors to the church will also have the chance to chat with our knowledgeable Educators, explore our exhibit, and enjoy our free scavenger hunts (which are great for kids).

The audio tour of the old North Church is a must if you want to dive deeper and learn more about the history of the church. It takes about 40 minutes to complete.

To be in this church with so much history was, to me, the highlight of my day. We are only 2 years from our nation's 250th birthday.

The church has such significance that the audio needs to be more compelling & interesting. It tells unique stories in dull ways thst most in our group jumped ahead and then ultimately turned it off. Maybe the recordings needs to be updated with current technology and effects. The childrens programming looked fun. Some were wandering around looking for the cat prints reveling clues and stories. (See pic) The crypt also is such a historicsl gem, yet it is underwhelming due to it’s presentation and how the information is conveyed. A full visitor center could be created for this well known and visited historical site!!! For that reason alone, I would visit again. My hope is for the next generation to appreciate it’s legacy.
