The Old North Church is a must-see Freedom Trail destination! Founded in 1723, Old North is the oldest still-standing church building in the city of Boston. Old North is world famous for the events of April 18, 1775, when allies of Paul Revere held two lanterns in the church's steeple as a signal that British troops were heading to Lexington and Concord "by sea" across the Charles River. This momentous act ignited the American Revolution.

Available in English or Spanish, the tour weaves together the story of Paul Revere’s famous lantern signal with recent research into the lives of Old North’s early congregants. Visitors to the church will also have the chance to chat with our knowledgeable Educators, explore our exhibit, and enjoy our free scavenger hunts (which are great for kids).

The Old North Church is a can't-miss stop for any visit to Boston! We loved making our way through the sanctuary while listening to the audio guide. The guide included fascinating stories from the church's 300 years of existence, including the "one if by land, two if by sea" lantern signals and Paul Revere's ride. You can also talk to the church's knowledgeable Educators and ask questions. The whole experience was like stepping back in time! Highly recommend!
