What a great way to experience the back roads of the Sonoma Valleys. With being an avid ebike enthusiast for vacationing to see sites off the beaten path, this is the way to go. The valleys were stunning, and the houses held so much character.
We visited 2 vinyards, the first being Honrama, definetly a modern take here, this is where we had our lunch at. Lunch consisted of a selection of sandwich choices to pick from before departing on our adventure. They were very good sandwiches with chips, cookies and fruit. The Honrama flight was excellent! Nice land to tour and our group didnt hold back on questions, which made it even more educational.
Our 2nd stop was at Buenavisa, another beautiful piece of property. The flight was good, but I did prefer the 1st place better. The grounds represented old world charm & culture, a completely different vibe from the first place. But it was a must see for the history and the beauty it carried.
Our 3rd stop was at a cheese making establishment where we were able to taste the cheeses and purchase what we enjoyed. This was a nice stop along the way and the cheeses were excellent! We where just then missing the wine...LOL
The time did go by very fast. If you are not a biker this is not for you. There where times some did have problems with the e part of the bike not kicking in and they lagged behind, but they did make their way up to us. The roads are not hilly or steep, though some where a bit bumpy. For the most part they are easy to ride, you just have distance to contend with.
Our tour guide was very good. He made sure we all were within his site while riding. Was very informative and always kept the conversation moving with the history of where we may have been at during the tour.
Do have breakfast or have something in your stomach before you start out. When you arrive to your first visit, you start your flight right away, then go on a tour of the facility and then eat lunch. You may or will get a bit tipsy while you are walking on the tour if you have not eaten anything. I would have prefered to eat in sections, my sandwich, during my first flight, taken the tour, and then came back to finish the fruit, cookies and my last flight. That is just me though...
This was a great adventure and would highly recommend adding this to your list of things to do in wine country!!
