We absolutely loved this experience! Our tour guide Shoyo was very helpful, knowledgeable, and made the whole tour extra fun! We had an amazing time watching the sunset, eating delicious sandwiches, and stargazing using the best telescope that the tour guides provided while enjoying hot chocolate that Shoyo made. We were taught about all of the beautiful constellations. Shoyo even took numerous beautiful pictures of us at the summit and under the stars, free of charge! We were supplied with all the winter gear that we needed at that high altitude. The tour planner Yumiko was so wonderful as well, and she accommodated our dietary requests and kept us updated about everything until the day of the tour. We would highly recommend this tour!

We felt very lucky to be able to book our trip last minute to go up Mauna Kea. We rented an all terrain Jeep to do this, but last minute realized was going to be very difficult to go up to the peak driving ourselves. Our tour guides, Wes and his partner, were really professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and made us really feel at home. We really learned a lot about the Hawaiian culture, history of the mountain, the stars; got great views of the island from the top, saw great sunset, and of course had great photos for memories. We very highly recommend this tour, A must thing to do on Big Island.
