Viewing the sunset and stars from Mauna Kea with tour guide Shaun was amazing! Shaun is an excellent guide and very caring, always making sure we were OK during altitude changes and he also instructed us how to best prevent altitude sickness which worked! He is also an incredible photographer and we loved the photos he took! He was also great at pacing the tour to maximize our viewing time to view the telescopes and clouds! Being above the clouds and seeing the myriad of constellations is a heavenly and other-worldly experience! The other guide, Stefan was very knowledgeable about the stars and we could tell these guides love what they do. The one thing I would caution you about is if you are uncomfortable taking off your mask in a full van of 13 people you may not like that you should take your mask off while ascending the highest part of the mountain. If you leave your mask on you may not get enough oxygen and pass out, so you really should take it off. Glad we planned this tour for our last day for practical health reasons and it was a fabulous way to end our trip! You won’t regret taking this tour!

A top of a great volcano with views to excite and calm the soul at the same time. To the greatness of technology framed by the greatness nature I am greatfull to have been able to see it with my own eyes. To the guides, Sean and Stephan, thank you for a great adventure. Amazing experience with Hawaiian Eyes Tours. Our guide Shawn was wonderful. The views from Mauna Kea are incredible and Shawn took great pictures of us. He airdropped or emailed the pics to everyone on the tour. The stargazing part was my favorite. Make sure you bring an extra layer as it's cold up there, but Hawaiian Eyes did provide really nice heavy coats. I can't recommend this tour enough.
