We decided to do this at the last minute as we were near the first stop and just couldn't walk any more - plus it was so hot outside. I'm usually one who avoids these buses, but I'm so happy we did the tour (though we just did a loop - didn't hop on or off). It was a great overview of the city - highly recommended.

Informative information given on prerecorded tour. Great vantage view from deck. Off and on privileges worked out great.

Run don't walk from this tour bus experience. Bought the two day hop-on-hop off ticket. First problem was the app was not working and so you could not get real time bus locations. We walked to stop 8 on the Red Line tour and discovered the road was closed and no bus could come down that street to pick us up. Back to the app to find there is no phone number to call all you can do is message. Started messaging at 2:39 PM, saying the road is closed and asking where we can pick-up the bus? No response! Messaged again at 3:03 PM asking for a phone number and no response. Messaged a third time at 3:45 PM asking if there was a current route map that was accurate and no response. Responses finally started coming at 3:31 AM the next day roughly 13 hours after the initial request and in the middle of the night. The response did not answer my questions and only asked "How can I help you"? Rented a couple of scooters and made it to number one stop and found a couple of drivers we could talk to. The first one said there is no map of the current route and that it should be on the APP but APP is not working today. He suggested I needed to "Friend" the app to get current information and that did not make any sense. The second driver told me that the street got closed yesterday and I could pick-up the bus at either a stop before or after stop 8 and the app would not show or tell you to do that and anyhow the app is not working today. Now I am stuck with three tickets for a bus that I have to walk at least an additional mile round trip to utilize. Oh by the way, I saw a couple of Old Town Trolley buses pass by while walking to try and catch the Big Bus that never came.

We are sorry for your experience. Our service is a hop-on and hop-off at more than one stop. The map function and live tracking was working appropriately on your dates of travel. Stop # 8 is directly next to the White House and there are times when they shut down access without prior warning due to visiting dignitaries or President motorcade. The app will not respond so quickly to surprise road closures due to movements at the White House. We apologize that you did not get direct service from the chat function. We are working to resolve that. You did not mention if you actually took the bus? With a 48 hour ticket, there was an opportunity to get lost, have some frustrations, find us, and still have a good tour. Again, thank you for the feedback.
