Altho we knew there was a lot of ground to cover (large island) the balance of driving and sites made for a tedious day. Also, there seemed to be proportionately too little time at memorable locals (Volcanoes NP; etc) and too much time at "sales" venues (coffee, pastry). The pastries stop was fine (the food was great) was scheduled just an hour prior to the lunch. The lunch was great but we were still full from the previous dining experience. The final two stops were affected by rain (not the tour's fault but still left a bad taste given that there weren't many significant stops to begin with). Our tour guide (Awana) spoke very rapidly (and quietly) and the narrative was often scattered, disjointed, and hard to follow. His humor didn't work (more than once telling a story that seemed legit but turned out to be untrue and served only to set up a joke ... I did not appreciate that).

The tour was amazing. It's a long day but our guide David, made the trip amazing. He had a lot of knowledge to share and kept the tour entertaining. David made sure we had enough time at each stop and his story telling was great and kept us all engaged!! I definitely recommend taking this tour.

Getting to see the crater at Mauna Loa and the lava flow was memorable. Also, walking through a rain forest for the first time. It's a very long day though.
