We were visiting Cocoa in late January. Since it was the slow season and during the middle of the week, we were able to sign up for the Comb Jelly Tour on a last-minute whim a few hours prior. Our guide was Eli and he did a great job of educating everyone and helping the less experienced kayakers in the beginning. Once everyone had a handle on their boat, we made our way exploring. We found two bays where the comb jellies were very bright and had lots of time to explore - and as a surprise to everyone, including Eli, the plankton that normally only glows during the summer was also glowing in the shallow bay (likely due to an exceptionally sunny day). He was great about educating us on the how's and why's while giving us time to explore and enjoy. We had an absolute blast on this tour! It was great to get out on the water and the bioluminescence was amazing! The next morning, we were talking about how much fun we had. We decided we wanted to see if there was any chance we could get on the Dolphin/Manatee Tour as we had heard the dolphins in the channel the night before. No one answered so I left a message. They called us back saying that there wasn't anyone else signed up but they had found an on-call guide that would do the tour for...the two of us. We hurried over to the launch site (about an hour from Cocoa Beach). We pulled in at the same time as our guide Angela. Since we are experienced paddlers and we were basically getting a private tour, Angela was able to take us to all her favorite places. We got to see numerous dolphins and an alligator (who just sat and watched us go by). Angela was so knowledgable about where the animals tend to hang out so we went on a mission to find them. We had a wonderful time and it was like paddling with an old friend. We were so grateful that BK would take the time to find a guide for just the two of us and that Angela would come out for such a small group. I just can't say enough about the BK Adventures, Angela, and Eli. You can tell they love what they do and want others to experience that joy. I highly recommend BK Adventures for your next paddling excursion. Also, be sure to check out Canaveral National Seashore while you are there. It's such a wonderful place! Do be aware that there are no services near the Indian river launch site so bring your own water, cooler, or snacks.

Totally worth it. Great guide with great humour, heard a lot of stories about wildlife, saw combs and even a bit of a dolphin! Would suggest the experience to anyone.

We went out with our tour guide from BK Adventure at night Monday Jan 13th in our kayaks. There seemed to be nothing glowing at first. Then our guide used his net swishing the water. As he moved the net you could see bright glowing orbs under water. he then pulled out a few glowing comb jellyfish and we held them in our hands. They don't sting so it's totally safe. From that point on we paddled through calm water pulling up the beautiful jellyfish. Fantastic. the BK Guide was just great. I highly recommend this adventure. There were no children in our group but it would be totally safe for kids. The water was only 2 - 5 foot deep.
