BK Adventure is a first-grade organization from office staff to the guides! Our night tour was supposed to be at 8pm; however, my family and I caught unexpected traffic driving up to Titusville. I called the office three hours prior to see if we were able to change our tour for the 10pm and the staff was accommodate our request. They were so understanding and it really helped relieve our worries. The directions provided by the staff to the launch site were extremely accurate and I recommend having them since you lose cellular reception in wildlife refuge. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Jerry and Christian. Both were so energetic and attentive to our needs before getting in the water. They were also so knowledge about the ecosystem and pointing out wildlife in and out of the water. You'll definitely a great tour with Jerry and Christian filled with fun facts and conversation! Tips: 1) There were a ton of mosquitoes. You should literally bath your clothes in insect repellent and buy a Mosquito Hat. 2) The clear kayaks are a tad harder to find your balance, so I would not recommend this option for people who are very nervous/anxious. 3) I suggest to go during July and around the new moon phase. In October, the dinoflagellate plankton are not very visible and the moonlight hinders visibility. However, there were a ton of comb jellies and are super safe to hold in your hand to see them glow. 4) Leave your phones in the car. The tour was really great at being in tune with nature, from the wildlife to the many stars in the sky to conversation with the guides and fellow participants. Also, pictures do not capture enchantment of the area.

Thank you for your review Michelle! So glad you enjoyed your experience with BK Adventure! Jerry and Christian are great guides, so glad you enjoyed their enthusiasm and knowledge about the ecosystem. You have very good tips, we recommend quick drying long sleeves and pants, just in case. The clear kayaks are a kayak/ canoe hybrid so they can be a bit harder to find your balance. Thank you for your great review and great tips! We hope to see you on one of our other tours soon!

The staff were really energetic, approachable and professional. The actual kayaking distance isn't much, I was alone and I didn't get tired. You can really see the flickers of light as you paddle. The really big globs of light are actually "jellies" which you can catch and make light up like something from Avatar. You have time to catch jellies and watch the night sky. DEFINITELY wear layers + bug spray. You are in swamp country. The moment I got by the shore, a bug in my ear. I had on two dry-fit layers on my chest with backwoods bug spray on all exposed areas and I still got 5 bug bites. I would suggest to spray even covered areas. But I didn't notice the bugs.

Hi Nicholas, thank you for this awesome review! We are so happy that you had such a great experience with our guides! They are who make the tours so fun! The comb jellies that you mentioned are beginning to come into their peak season as the water temperatures cool. They are awesome little creatures and I am glad you enjoyed seeing them. You are also totally right about the bug spray. It is hard for us to know exactly how the bugs will be on the Wildlife Refuge, but they are always there in some capacity. Whenever we speak with guests we try to recommend to prepare for the worst, but hope for the best! I am glad that you were prepared and did not find them irritating. Thank you again for joining us on a tour and leaving your review! We hope to see you again sometime soon for your next adventure!

Unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Worth the money. Don’t take a phone - the nature of what you see won’t show up on a phone camera plus your phone will get wet in the kayak. Bring dry clothes. Go on a night with no moon visible (new moon or a very cloudy night). Doesn’t matter if you’ve never been in a kayak.
