I would not recommend this cruise, it is not worth the money. We took the Sunset Cruise with Chris. We really felt that we were left on own out there. This was my husband 1st time ever in a kayak and my 2nd time. Seemed that Chris was more interested in racing from one end of the lake to the other looking for manatee and not paying attention to the group, we were a small group, 3 kayaks and Chris. We did manage to see a few manatees. Our tour guide didn't even describe the types of birds that we seen. The sunset was decent (which we understood the sunset may be affected by clouds). We didn't see any type of luminescence. As the tour ended Chris proceeded to paddle into shore very quickly and meantime the winds had picked up and rain begun. The rain was coming down hard, we weren't sure where we were because our tour guide had gone to shore ahead of us. There were no indicators of the shoreline, no lights, nothing. We could not see where we were in the hard rain and the winds pushing us. It wasn’t until I hollered out that we were still out did our guide acknowledge us. This was a very bad experience. NEVER AGAIN…

Hi Jane, We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your sunset tour. Our guide, Chris, did tell us that his group that night had different levels of kayaking experience that made it difficult for him to keep everyone together. We try to cater to paddler's of all experience levels, but this can sometimes make tours difficult when some guests are paddling more quickly than others. From our trip notes for your tour, the dinoflagellate bioluminescence was a 4/10 and comb jellies were present. Bioluminescence can vary greatly from hour to hour and everyone experiences it differently. We post the current conditions of the bioluminescence on Twitter daily so that all guests can have an idea of what we have been seeing recently. The Wildlife Refuge is a great place to see the bioluminescence because there are no lights, although it can be disorienting when you are on the water. Weather can be very unpredictable and we monitor it very carefully. On the night of your tour, the guide did mention that there was a bit of rain at the end of the tour. We're sorry that the conditions and the weather of your tour were not what you were hoping for. We aim to give all of our guests a five star experience and we appreciate your feedback so that we can continue to improve.

My husband and I had the pleasure of doing the sunset plus bioluminescence tour and it was an amazing experience, highly recommend doing this if you are anywhere in the Orlando area you will not regret it. Our guide JC was extremely knowledgeable about the area and all the wildlife and made sure we had a great time. The manatees were adorable they would come right up to the kayak, and we even had dolphins swimming along with us. The sunset was beautiful, and the night sky with all the stars, Milky Way, was breathtaking. When it got dark we were able to see the bioluminescence as we paddled through the water, and were fortunate enough to see the comb jellies also. Magical evening, I hope to do the tour again next time we're in the area. Thank you BK adventures and JC for a wonderful experience we will never forget.

My friends and I got to see the sunset before our tour and if you are able to you should try catch it! The tour itself was amazing and we were lucky to have Jared who was really knowledgable and funny. Definitely an experience we will never forget. side note: do not uber to the spot... get a car.
