We did the combo sunset and bio kayak tour. On the sunset portion we saw a number of birds-ospreys, blue herons, cormorants, egrets. We encountered a large number of manatees as well, some of them coming right beside our kayak. We also spotted one dolphin. Unfortunately the sunset was not spectacular due to heavy cloud cover on the horizon, but one can't fault the tour operators for that! We took about a half an hour break between the sunset tour and the bio tour. We had packed sandwiches and had plenty of time to eat. As others have mentioned, the no-see-ums were plentiful that night, and though we did use repellent, we got numerous bites that are quite painful and itchy even now. I'm sure this varies due to time of year, wind, etc. but it would be better for the site to encourage not only using repellent but to at least bring long pants and long sleeved shirts. But the bioluminescence was incredible! I had done a kayak tour of a bio bay in Puerto Rico a few years ago, and this was much more spectacular. Of course this varies also with the darkness level, time of year, etc. But it was amazing and our guides, Cody and Elijah, were knowledgeable, patient, and humorous. They let us stay a bit longer in the bay as we had to delay going out for about 10 minutes due to heavy rain. They know where to look for the best bio and ensured everyone had a great experience, bugs excepted. I would highly recommend but advise long pants and shirts, insect repellent, and checking a moon phase calendar for the darkest time of the month.

Dylan, Max and Eli were awesome guides. Lots of information provided. Bioluminescence exceeded our expectations! Looked exactly like the Manta Ray scene from Moana!! Fish and shrimp looked like shooting stars under the water. Even saw a dolphin glowing under water! Couldn’t capture bioluminescence on camera 😔 Pictures wouldn’t do it justice anyway!! DEFINITELY BRING LOADS OF BUG SPRAY! I highly recommend long sleeve pants and shirts to prevent bug bites. Mosquitoes were biting even with OFF Deep Wood applied. Once on the water the bugs went away. You’ll get SOAKED so bring extra dry clothes! Will most definitely be returning to any BK Adventure excursion.

Our tour was okay. The directions were definitely not as clear as we had hoped but we found the location with time to spare. It was definitely an experience I and my sister will remember given we woke up with our legs and arms covered in insect bites (not the tour guides fault) we didn't go prepare. But wish we had booked this for our last day. Cannot stop itching, which makes it very difficult to enjoy anything. Our tour guys were very knowledgeable.
