Step back in time with a 4.5-hour visit to one of America's oldest working, living plantations. Be transported to this historic site with an experienced driver on a comfortable, air conditioned mini bus. Boone Hall Plantation has been recognized as the #1 Plantation in the Charleston area, according to USA TODAY. Tour includes round-trip transportation from the Visitors Center in Charleston, all entrance fees, a guided house tour, Gullah Theater (in season), self guided garden and grounds tour, and a tram tour (based on availability). Small-group tour is limited to a maximum of 25 people.

I enjoyed the grounds and gullah performance as well as the farm tractor tour. The only disappointment was the house tour as you're only allowed in 2 front rooms, not the kitchen, upstairs bedrooms or baths. Also it is a renovated 1930s mansion and not the original plantation house.

The grounds were very pretty. The Gullah presentation was excellent. The actual Boone home was a bit disappointing with only 3 rooms to tour. More rooms should be restored for touring!

It was fun experiencing a step back in history. A humbling and informative review of how our forefathers lived and how others were treated and how their lives were so different than those who lived in the big house. The presentation at the the little theater was very entertaining.
