1. Before even departing for our NYC trip, I tried to contact the tour operator Amigo Tour USA, as I had very specific questions.. I believe I left 9 messages over the course of a 2 week period with very detailed quick messages.. NOT once had they returned my call, nor did they respond to any email communications.. Ultimately, I needed to increase the size of our group and ask other questions.. I was eventually able to address 1 of these issues directly with VIATOR.
2. On the actual morning of the Tour, 3 December, 2022, our scheduled pick-up was for 8:30 am at the OMNI Berkshire Place in NYC. The tour operator got lost and went to a different hotel to wait for us.. When she arrived at that location, she called me to tell me that she was waiting outside the main hotel door. We all proceeded outdoors and could not find her anywhere..
She was very difficult to understand as she struggled with the English language. It turns out she went to the wrong hotel to pick us up. We had to wait for over 1 hour until she finally arrived to the correct hotel.. Upon her arrival she seemed extremely frazzled and was not organized to begin this tour.
3. The language was a HUGE issue, as we could not understand her English.. I believe she is from Columbia and had an extremely heavy accent.. This was a huge problem as we all struggled for 5+ and eventually many individuals we pretty much lost complete interest
4. The driving was undescribingly dangerous. She operated the large Mercedes Sprinter with 1 hand and she held a microphone up the her mouth the entire time. There were more than a few scary and unsafe moments.
5. Our trip was to be of the 5 Boroughs with Cooney Island. Well, we never made it to Cooney Island as well as Staten Island.. she completely skipped over both of these for reasons unexplained to us.
6. While visiting the Bronx, we saw the Baseball Stadium and the only other sites and stories we heard about were crimes, killing and murders … I am not sure if there is anything else in the Bronx, however we were left with a very dim impression of this area
7. When in Queens, she drove through a residential area and went down each street to show us all the residential houses. We also went by US Open stadium.. Not sure if this is the actual tour or not, but I did not pay close to $3000 US dollars to look at a bunch of suburban houses..
8. We boarded the tour around 10 am and got dropped off around 2:30 pm.. how is this a 7 hour tour??
