Бутик Старый город Александрия Гастрономический и исторический тур

Обзор
Alexandria, Virginia sits just across the river from DC but Old Town feels far removed with its cobblestone streets and charming rowhomes. When visiting DC, we always suggest that people take the time to explore this little nearby gem!

Enjoy tastings from locally-owned restaurants which contribute to the story we share. Along the way we will visit a classic spot that has been a mainstay for over 40 years; a restaurant with award-winning dishes, and classic bistro with European roots.

Explore the pretty streetscapes, the waterfront, public art pieces, and the architecture while you learn about the evolution of this small city. From the Civil War to Civil Rights to present day, Old Town has played an instrumental part in this country’s history. Come and get a taste of history.

A portion of each ticket sale is donated to Bread For The City, an organization who provides food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty for DC residents.

We had a fantastic time on this food tour, not only did we have delicious food (biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles.. the rest is a surprise) but we also learned a lot about Old Town's history. Our guide/ founder Mary was personable and had a lot of interesting knowledge about the area. Our group really loved the experience and we fell in love with the town! Highly recommend the tour.

Mary was delightful! We thoroughly enjoyed walking around Old Town Alexandria and experiencing the food scene along with some interesting history. It's a great way to experience Alexandria from a different perspective. We've already scheduled a U Street food for later this week. Thanks Carpe Diem!

Scott was great on the U street tour with a wide range of tastes from tradition Ethiopian - first time and now one of my favs - empanadas, coloda, famous chilli and much much more. New innovative chefs with great stories about their heritage, their message, their cause and passion for food. Murials told the story of the blues and the fight for rights that was very moving. Mary took us through Old Town Alexandria on an absolutely fun and informative gourmet adventure with unique tastes, creative dishes and incredible stories of the food and culture in DC and old town. From amazing tea cakes we all craved for the bext day, best ever chicken and waffles and then came the fabulous megarolls. All Carpe tours left us comfortably full of delicious food, new flavour favourites and wide smiles. We have done food tours all over, NYC, Boston, Barcelona, Melbourne, etc. and Carpe is one of the best and would recommend them without question - just too much delicious fun by well informed professional guides who go out of their way to make your day.

THANK YOU, Laura! We're so glad that you were able to take tours of both U St and Old Town Alexandria. I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with you and exploring Old Town. And we very much appreciate the fact that you've taken food tours in so many cities and count us among the best. :) We wish you the best and hope you keep exploring new cities by taking food tours when you travel! Cheers, Mary
