I had the pleasure of hanging for the weekend in BV with Performance Tours. This was my first time rafting in Colorado and I have to say this is a five star business all the way. The guides are super friendly, the vibe rocked, and the overall experience was grade A. I did the Numbers with Curtis on June 2nd and you could tell Curtis knows what he is doing (it was confirmed the next day) Curtis is ultra experienced and a great guy to hang out with. On June 3rd I went down browns canyon with Becca. My take away from Becca was she may be on the younger side but she is as well, super experienced and super friendly. However the biggest take away was that we had some rookie guides doing their first solo oar and she was so supportive of the younger guides and even helped them along the way with a "rock" technique for a quick fix. You wonder who she learned that from? The man himself, Curtis. Overall both guides are absolutely fantastic and anyone should feel safe and confident in their boats.
I also got to know Drew another Ultra experienced guide. On my browns canyon trip we also had Fiona in our boat, a newer guide but well on her way. She was a great addition to the boat in many aspects especially if some of the other rowers were confused. She also made an epic save.
What to know - Numbers: Numbers is consistent white water, it is a bit more technical in the navigation of the white water but from pretty much start to finish is a action packed ride.
What to know - Browns Canyon: Browns Canyon is a bit of a slow start but the scenery takes up that time no problem. If you are looking for the white water however wait till the end when you make your way into the Canyon, the white water isn't as consistent but the white water in the canyon is steep and honestly pretty awesome, I was pleasantly surprised.
What to bring: When they send this to you. Listen. Especially on the sun screen!
Performance tours you rock!
