We have been on a family holiday which included Disney, the 3 universal parks, discovery cove and Busch gardens in Tampa.
We have just finished a day in Busch gardens which was great if you only wanted to do a roller coaster ride, because nearly everything else was closed!! All of the water rides were closed on a day the was 95 degrees and humid! How can they be so audacious to charge USD30 for parking and USD25 for a locker which we needed because our towels and swimwear was no use to us, on a day that felt like the park was at most, half open!!
Then the best bit, chick fil-a, USD52 for two chicken sandwiches and 1 chicken nuggets. Then I was accused by the table cleaner of not clearing my table as I had left my table after I had eaten to go over to my kids table to speak with them. I explained to her that I hadn’t left the restaurant yet and besides that, there was no sign to say I had to clear my own table. She was so rude, it couldn’t believe it!!
I asked a number of staff in the park for help re other parts of the park/directions, and I couldn’t believe everyone’s responded with “I don’t know sir”. No one was helpful, none of the staff had any knowledge when we looked for assistance, in fact most of them looked extremely unmotivated to be doing a job there at all. The restaurants were outrageously expensive and pretty dirty.
On the plus side, feeding the giraffes was a great experience!
On a wider note, I have been in Florida for over 3 weeks and I have noticed a real change in service levels and I am told this is due to staff shortages. I can understand why this might impact availability, but it doesn’t allow for bad or a rude service level. The experience we have had over the last 3 weeks has been a very different experience to what we would have had on previous trips to the US in terms of service and cost. The costs have gone through the ceiling and service through the floor…… very disappointing.
