My daughter and I signed up for the Bulldog Tours The Spirits of Magnolia Cemetery tour in Charleston, SC. We arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled begin time and were met by our tour guide, Joy. She was really knowledgeable regarding both the graveyard and how Charleston played into so many events in local history. We were about 30 minutes into the tour and the skies opened up (I later found out a severe thunderstorm warning was issued moments after we started the tour). Joy told us to gather on the porch of what they call "the Big House" and that's what we did. Mother Nature was really angry about something that day so Joy gave everyone on the tour the option of waiting the storm out or rescheduling. My daughter and I opted to reschedule. I called the office the next day and they gave me trouble in scheduling me a new date....the next Thursday. Our second attempt at the tour was much more successful. Our tour guide was Randall...who also happens to be Joy's fiancé. Our group was much smaller (just my daughter, myself, and 3 others) so the tour was as much a question and answer session as it was a walking narrative. Both Joy and Randall knew tons about the cemetery and had a knack for presenting the information in a fun and spooky way. The cemetery itself is fascinating with inhabitants (and maybe spirits) ranging from Native Americans to the crews of the H.L. Hunley. We didn't see any ghosts but I guarantee that their stories will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up....I HIGHLY recommend this tour.

Glad you were able to reschedule. I'm sorry you faced trouble with doing it though. I'm surprised to hear that. We are usually pretty laid back about it. Were they almost sold out? Again, sorry about that. Anyway, thank you for being so accommodating with rescheduling due to inclement weather. It happens often in the summer in Charleston, sometimes without much warning. Again, thank you for being easy to work with on that. We are glad you enjoyed both Randy and Joy. They are quite wonderful tour guides and we are certainly lucky to have them on our team. Really enjoyed this tour. Was in town for work and wanted to experience the haunted side of Charleston. Sims was my tour guide and really enjoyed the stories he shared. I also have an unexplained orb in a pic. And it’s not a flash off someone else’s camera flash or a light. I have other photos from this same spot and nothing like this! Kinda cool!

I had such high hopes and left the tour feeling like I didn't really get much our of it. Our group was fairly and it all felt rathe produced and not very authentic.
