Crystal River

This tour is ALL about finding the best manatee spots and utilizing our clear kayaks to give you the best viewing possible without getting wet! Crystal River is known as the “Manatee Capital of the World.” On this tour, we want our guests to experience Manatees in their natural habitat. Crystal River is fed by dozens of natural springs, which makes it is a hotspot during Florida’s “colder” months. Between November and March, hundreds of manatees migrate inland to the springs to seek refuge and stay warm. We can’t control where they might be in the area, but our experienced guides will take you to where they are most active! While manatees are our main focus of this tour, we often see dolphins, fish, turtles, birds, and more! This 2-2.5 hour guided adventure includes a relaxed paddle through Kings Bay to Hunter Springs, Jurassic Springs, and beyond in Crystal River. Check this paddle off your manatee bucket list! Winsor was an excellent and fun tour guide. (When we see you on our next trip I PROMISE I will get your name correct!) We even got to see a manatee with a calf on our tour. That was a huge plus since we weren’t expecting to see any. We also got to swim in Three Sister Springs. If you go on the tour and have a chance to do this, DO IT! You won’t regret it. It is cold but it was an awesome experience! We will bringing back our family and friends to do this!

Swimming in the springs!!!! Absolutely beautiful!!!! Everything about it was incredible...loved every second of the tour

We left slightly disappointed. Not because of the amazing tour guides or the beautiful crystal river pools at the end of the tour but moreso for the lack of transparency in the manatees. Every 5 star review mentions seeing manatees and every promotional pic for the tour has manatees. We went in late june and there were NO manatees. Pretty much you are paying for a kayak tour to the crystal river area which is accessible by car and foot. Would recommend rebooking the tour during the heavy manatee season so you arent sad after driving 1.5hours each way from tampa or orlando for a lackluster tour. The kayaking though is easy and perfect for beginners but dont expect to see anything out of the bottom of your clear kayak. They are quite old and beatup with lots of scratches. The tourguides were great though and made the most of our day!

We are so happy that while the tour was not what you were looking forward to, that you were happy with our guides and the nature that surrounded you. Unfortunately, manatee season is only from November through March. While we wish that all of our tours could experience the manatees, we are unable to guarantee that everyone will see them. We also apologize that the bottoms of the boats were not up to your expectations.
