My husband purchased a Groupon with Rainbow Ryders for our anniversary and it was AMAZING!!! It’s nice to see Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs from a different view! We even stayed in the air longer than schedule which was a PLUS! I would highly recommend this excursion.

I had an excellent time flying with Patrick and Rainbow Ryders! I highly recommend this trip to anyone, especially those who may be turned away by a fear of heights. As soon as we took off, our pilot Patrick kept the balloon at a lower altitude and took the time to tell us how he operates and controls the ballon. This was extremely reassuring and gave you the time as a passenger to adjust and feel comfortable in the balloon. The rest of the flight was very peaceful, and of course very beautiful. I have lived in Colorado for most of my life, and I have never seen a better view of the front range than I did flying with Rainbow Ryders. Although I didn't want the flight to be over, our landing was very smooth. As soon as we touched down, the rest of the crew was there to assist our pilot and shortly after we were greeted with a champagne toast. Overall, the flight was amazing and this truly is a bucket list activity. I definitely will be flying again with Rainbow Ryders!

My wife surprised me with a hot air balloon ride. We've never taken such a ride and I am not comfortable with heights. We arrived at the Hotel Elegante where we checked in. The morning was beautiful. We climbed in the van where they took us to the launching area. We watched then lay out and blow up the balloon. The basket stood up and they were ready for us to get in. The basket is very sturdy and comfortable to stand in. It was,a bit cool, but under the fire it was very nice. Lift off was smooth and effortless. We drifted easily over the neighborhoods. We reached 2,000 feet above ground (8,000 above sea level). We were traveling between 12 and 18 miles an hour. Because we were drifting with the wind you do not feel the wind. The views were beautiful. Our pilot said it was one of the most perfect days for flying. The flight lasted just over an hour and we landed in the northern part if the city. As we landed the pilot asked us to grab the strap, bend knees and turn our backs toward the direction we were going. We bounced once, then we dragged a bit, then gently the basket ended up on its side. We were basically laying down. Everyone had a blast. After the ride we were given a certificate of the flight, a continental breakfast, and juice or champagne. Of course you can have a Mimosa or what is called a Colorado Sunrise (one part each of OJ, cranberry juice, and champagne). We were grateful to land safely so chose the Colorado Sunrise :)
