Our first waterfall for the day will be the dramatic Latourell Falls which plunges 249 feet over a massive wall of columnar basalt. The next waterfall we will visit will be the famed Multnomah Falls. Plummeting 620 feet in two major steps, Multnomah Falls is the highest waterfall in Oregon and second highest in the nation! Here, we can explore the Multnomah Falls Historic Lodge (a Cascadian style stone and timber lodge built in 1925) as well as the beautiful Multnomah Falls itself. The easily accessible viewing platform offers a full view of the Benson Bridge and cascading falls beyond it.

My wife and I typically will take the most popular tours when we are visiting a new city/destination. We like to get around and see as much as we can when we are on vacation. In this case, it was our first time in Portland OR. I booked the Portland city tour at 9:00 AM (tour was 9 AM - 12:00 PM) then had the Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls Tour booked for 2:00 PM (2PM - 4PM) the same day. So glad we did this. In my opinion, highly rated tours, get you acclimated to the more desirable places that visitors enjoy seeing. It gives you a “lay of the land” and opens it up to places you might want to go to on your own later in your stay there. For me, this was money well spent on two great tours. For what we saw and experienced, the cost and gratuities were negligible. We could have spent days finding some of these locations and still not know the history behind them. The buses held around 10-12 people and they were quite comfortable . Air conditioned. Large glass windows provide generous viewing options. Drinks (non-alcoholic) were complimentary as well as some native hazelnuts. Bathroom stops at clean, well appointed facilities were often enough (being a senior, they were welcomed). Our tour guide for both tours was Aaron. Aaron did a great job on both these tours!!! Highly recommend. Not sure if all tour drivers do this but, Aaron took group pictures of our tour group at select tour stops. Besides bathroom breaks, we stopped at all the key locations (for the most part) and had some personal time to enjoy, take photos, etc. Took the tour July 19th

Ash was a responsible and honest guide. Beautiful falls and fresh air were enjoyed (without having to mess with parking or renting a car). Was a great choice for me with a mild sprained ankle. Minimal walking. Thanks!

I didn't have a whole lot of time, but I wanted to see what the environment around Portland was like. I took this tour in the morning, and was very pleased with it. We departed promptly and got the first waterfall (Multnomah) before the crowds of tourists. We had about a half-hour at the site, which was enough time to walk up to the bridge halfway up the falls. There is not enough time to hike the entire trail to the top of the falls, which I didn't realize at first. After the falls, we went to the fish hatchery which was much more fun, informative, and worthwhile than I was expecting. It's a beautiful site and the ancient sturgeon made a cameo appearance in the tank for us. We returned to Portland along the scenic Route 30, which winds along the Columbia River, and we stopped at other falls and then the iconic Crown Point lookout. Although we got delayed in traffic, our guide Ash kept us all entertained with tourist lore and fed with hazelnuts from the region! We all agreed that we were fine with being late on the return, so we managed to see everything on the list despite the traffic delay. Well worth the time and money!
