Charleston City Market

Our Barn is located just off of the Charleston City Market. You will meet your certified tour guide here and then you will depart on your hour long horse or mule drawn carriage tour. The carriage will go through the City gate at the market where the tour guide is assigned a tour route. You will see about 30 blocks of the historic district which will include beautiful architecture, churches, buildings, gardens and more. The tour returns to the Big Red Barn.

we had a nice cool day to enjoy our carriage ride around the historical parts of this beautiful southern city. Our guide was very informed, gracious and humorous. The slower pace of the carriage ride gave us ample time to see things and snap great pixs! We spotted several places we went back to later for closer inspection

Our guide had been doing these tours for over 20 years. His knowledge was wide and deep. He appeared to have a passion for what he does and the city. The animals appeared to be well taken care of and are probably a lot happier now that they are not working on a farm. The route is picked, at random, by the city. We ended up with a route that was not the kind of history I was hoping for but I still learned some very interesting things. Note: this is how all of the carriage companies are assigned a route.

Ride was wonderful! Our guide was pleasant & very knowledgeable of the history of Charleston. I would highly recommend!
