The carriage will go through the City gate at the market where the tour guide is assigned a tour route. You will see about 30 blocks of the historic district which will include beautiful architecture, churches, buildings, gardens and more. The tour returns to the Big Red Barn.

Great trip with lots of information! I wasn't sure if this was a tourist trap or not-it most definitely is not! It is a great way to learn about the city! My only complaint is that you do not know where you are going to go on your tour. it is regulated. We got lucky and went exactly where I wanted to. I know there is a lot I don't know about Charleston, but I do know there are things I really wanted to see and would have been disappointed if I did not get to see them on the tour.

Sadly, because of so many carriages on the streets they randomly assign you a route after you have started the ride. We were assigned a very uninteresting ride that never took us to the waterfront or we’ll known historic streets. The guide struggled to find interesting things to talk about and paused to talk on side streets with very little to look at. I envied groups I saw later in the day going the places I had expected to go on our tour. Would not recommend unless you can be guaranteed a route you would want to see for $100 per couple
