Ok yes yes yes. It's amazing and a must do. I'm going to share as much as I can so that your experience is better than mine.
EdGE NYC is inside a mall on the 4th floor. There will be a huge number of people randomly standing waiting to be called to stand in line This crowd will wrap around the corner! At the "beginning" of the line, you will find staff YELLING the next wave/ticket time. It's clear that EDGE NYC can not handle large crowds. The staff truly tries their best. Note: You will NOT be able to go in earlier than your ticket time. So if you wish to be inside on observation deck at 6pm, make sure you buy a 5pm ticket (give yourself a minimum of one hour).
We purchased a FLEX pass, meaning we dont have a specific wave/ticket time. There is another option to avoid the madness the "Express Admission/city pass will fast track you. We got there at 5pm and we finally got "ON" the observation deck around 6:25pm!!! We were horribly reminded of a DisneyRide wait line. I assume my excessive wait time is linked to the holiday touristy season.
Once we made it on the official line, we were then placed on an elevator that took us to our final destination.
I will admit it was all worth while!!! NO regrets. We left around 7:10pm. Food and beverages, including alcohol are available to purchase. Unfortunately, my 8 y/o was tired, so we left earlier than expected. And of course, you will have to once again stand in line to exit EDGE NYC. This, too, can be ridiculous. We were lucky and found another exit-elevator on the upstairs 2nd deck.
