Explore San Diego Tide Pools with a Marine Biologist

Adventure with a marine biology educator along the coast and learn more about wildlife living in the intertidal zone of San Diego. Great for all ages and skill levels. There are some stairs and lots of uneven terrain we will walk on, so this is not a wheelchair-friendly activity.

I taught middle and high school marine biology for more than a decade before committing to environmental tourism! With fifteen years of teaching youth and adults in outdoor education settings, plus my background in conservation biology, provides guests with in-depth (pun intended) knowledge of marine life during our tide pool exploration.

Groups are kept small (10 people maximum, with exceptions for private groups/families) which makes this a more intimate and personal experience.

Our guide Matt was very knowledgeable of the tide pools and the marine life. We saw lots of snails, mollusks, and a live crab. My son was able to pick up and hold many of these which he really enjoyed.

We had a great time touring the tide pools in La Jolla! Our kids learned a lot about all types of sea life. Matt was a fantastic guide and teacher! We are so glad we booked this event for our day out as a family.

My family of four (2 adults, 2 kids ages 5 and 7) had a great time exploring the tide pools in La Jolla with Matt. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. We explored areas that other visitors in the area overlooked and got to learn about the marine life. We all loved it and would highly recommend!
