My wife, kids and I recently rented tandem kayaks for the day and had a blast! We paddled around Travenier creek and up into the mangroves and saw lots of cool wildlife like, egrets, tarpon, snook, and even a dolphin! We also fished a little and caught several juvenile barracuda! We had loads of fun even though it was raining a little. However, once we got a little wet it was an easy paddle back to the rental place were the fun continued as we sat covered, ate food and enjoyed a beer with Austin( bartender). He was really fun to talk with and my kids really enjoyed his sense of humor! Great time and would do it again in a minute!!!

We got to this fantastic place through our condo rental and were so impressed with the quality of the equipment, the friendly and efficient service, and the kayaking just around the corner. These people get it right!

As experienced kayakers, my partner and I rushed to take out a pair during a recent stopover in Tavernier on the Keys. The people in the shop were very friendly and helpful. A few words to the wise, however: the current going out is strong against you. If you're not used to kayaking, this is not the location to learn. The distance also militates against beginners. We didn't attempt the 2&1/2 hour route and I'm glad we didn't. Despite spraying sun-block on my legs, I came back with a mild burn. That said if you're experienced and prepared, you'll enjoy your time here.

thanks for coming to visit us. we do in fact have current that is tidal which means that sometimes it is stronger than others. we do our best to describe a route that will take the best advantage of the current but sometimes it doesn't work out. every day here is completely different. hope to see you again. maybe you could try one of our other routes and explore a different area that isn't tidal.
