I’ll be honest, I was disappointed by this experience. The tour started with a sad talk by the tour captain saying he wanted to make sure we had “VERY LOW” expectations (yup, his words) because we shouldn’t expect to see alligators on our tour, which was the main purpose of the whole thing. We didn’t spot any, as he warned us about; which I hope was made as clear before the tickets were purchased. The whole time before getting on the boat you’re getting hyped up about the experience and then they bring you down right to reality before it begins. We did this for my 6 years old who got very sad as soon as the guy said he shouldn’t expect to see the only thing we promised him he would. I’d say that if we’re already on the boat, at least make it a fun experience for the kids and if you want to give a warning, do so before we pay. Also, Next time, I’d recommend not to charge full price if the captain is as sure that day alligators are not in the area, I’m confident they already knew. I’ve done other tours, on a boat that has a roof cover (extremely recommended), with more information and was able to see a few. It was the same season as this so I wouldn’t blame it on heat or water levels, as he sure did before claiming service employees rely on tips by the end of the ride. Maybe others have a different experience and I hope it was better.
