The Focus on Haines Private Tour is tailored to my guests' interests and will offer you the opportunity to see the best Alaska has to offer.away from the ships & shops. Whether you are a photographer or just want to get out into the quiet corners of America’s last frontier, you will find Haines to be the Alaska you came to experience.

At each stop I share the stories of cultural and natural history that makes each location special.

If your interest is photography, I strive to cover the basics of your camera's technical functions. I offer instruction how and when to use the camera's various modes to optimize the photograph you would like to save as a real keeper. Additionally, I offer tips to optimize your opportunities for successful wildlife photography. I can discuss the best composition considerations when framing your shots so you come home with an award-winning photograph.
For people who want an extended tour, additional time can be provided for at the time of the tour.

Far from tourists groups, Tom gave us the best experiences in Haines. He took us to unique landscapes, share lens and show us eagles and bears. Perfect tour for photography lovers. And even if you don't have a camera, you'll enjoy the best views in Haines

Excellent private tour. Tom is a good conversationalist for non-photographers. My wife felt he paid attention to her with his background on the history of Haines as he did with me as the photographer. We both learned a lot from him. I highly recommmend Tom and we will use him again. He follows up with you a lot after your experience. We also became friends through the photo tour.

Tom Ganner provides an excellent experience! With a mixture of photography, history, wildlife info, and local lore, Tom makes the tour a memorable and exciting adventure. Tom provides a relaxed pace and knows the area well enough to know where to visit based on the weather conditions, time of day, and wildlife activity. This tour was an enjoyable experience worth repeating when my travels again include Haines, Alaska. My suggestion is to contact Tom as early as possible if you are considering booking a tour.
