Lower Yellowstone River Falls
Lower Falls, the biggest waterfall in Yellowstone at 308-feet tall, is the most famous waterfall in the park. The canyon’s colors were created by hot water acting on volcanic rock. It was not these colors, but the river’s yellow banks at its distant confluence with the Missouri River, that occasioned the Minnetaree Indian name which French trappers translated as roche jaune, yellow stone. The canyon has been rapidly downcut more than once, perhaps by great glacial outburst floods.

Fountain Paint Pot
The Fountain Paint Pots is an amazing stop in Yellowstone National Park's Lower Loop. They are mud pots located in Lower Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. The Fountain Paint Pots are named for the rich reds, and vivid yellows and browns of the mud in this area. The differing colors are derived from oxidation states of the iron in the mud.

This was a perfect day. It sounds like along time, 12 hrs but it goes very fast with so much to see I didn’t want it to end. We were picked up by our guide, Bobby at the hotel. He was absolutely wonderful. His knowledge about the area, wildlife and history was amazing and made this tour so worthwhile. We saw Elk, Moose, Bison, Pronghorn, Bald Eagles, and even a Grisly Bear. The tour provides binoculars for everyone and Bobby had a scope which makes viewing the animals much easier. He also took pictures for us using the scope. The vans are very comfortable and clean. We stopped at flushable toilets along the way. Stops for coffee and even a little shopping. Lunch was in a peaceful spot and the company provides a picnic. There are plentiful snacks and water provided throughout. I would not hesitate to book a tour and if you get Bobby as your guide you will have a wonderful day.

OUTSTANDING DAY!! The tour was absolutely beyond expectations, small group of 6 with one tour guide. We saw all the popular attractions and animals. Our tour guide Kenny made it beyond informative, really transcending. We HIGHLY recommend this tour on your Day One (or only), even if you have a few days in the parks to be on your own. They know the routes to take where there aren’t crowds or traffic and communicate all day with their peers for the best animal sightings. Thanks again Kenny. We will never forget our day with you!!
