This is The Historic Triangle Tour. Travel with a local back in time and also in chronological order. We will spend the first part of our day in the 1600's and the second half in the 1700's. This is where the country began, you will see and learn history from a local. We start our day at Jamestown, the beginning 1607 with a guided tour. Our lunch stop will be next at the cafe which is owned by a local restaurant where we will have an included meal which can be colonial style if preferred. After lunch we travel into the 1700's with a battlefield tour and finishing up at the Revolutionary War Museum.

I can't write a review, because they cancelled my trip. In all fairness, they did reach out to me to see if I could go the day before which I could not. Ironically, I connected in the area with another woman who was scheduled to take the exact trip the day before I was. She told me the excursion was very good, other than too many people were crammed on the tour, basically a very full bus. Maybe it would have been nice to take less people and split the two days. I was very disappointed. She said Matt was an excellent guide. Again to be fair, I was totally refunded my money and some personal issues may have been at play in this case. Still disappointed. Would have liked to go.

My friends and I had a great day, and we would all recommend this trip as an introduction to Jamestown and Yorktown. It was a good complement to our visit to Williamsburg. I would like to return to spend a full day in each of those locations, which have excellent museums with creative displays. The modern, brand-new bus left on time, and the driver/guide delivered commentaries that provided a good background for all the spots that we visited. He presented the historical information in a conversational way. We started at 8AM and ended at 5:30PM, and I will say that on the way back my brain was overloaded with historical information. A quiet half-hour return trip would have been OK! At lunchtime I was confused, however, because the tour description said that it would be 'a Colonial-style lunch at a local restaurant'. Instead, we ate in the Cafe at the Jamestown museum. The food was fine, there were plenty of choices, but it wasn't what I thought 'a Colonial-style meal' would be. I guess that the peanut soup and Brunswick stew came close to that. Overall, a great trip and a great value, because it included transportation, guide, museum entries, and lunch.

We were a group of eight, and everyone agreed this was a great tour because of Matt our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable with the history of Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg. He made the tour not only educational but very entertaining which kept everyone engaged.
