My parents and I took a tour with Mike, and everything about it was fantastic. Mike is enthusiastic, patient, watches out for everyone in the group, and is good with kids. He is committed to sharing a beautiful and sometimes misunderstood place, and clearly loves his job. I especially appreciated his environmental and conservation approach, his encyclopedic knowledge of natural and human history of the area, and his ability to inspire interest in all parts of the ecosystem (not just the charismatic alligators and crocodiles, but mangrove plants and ferns and diving birds and grasshoppers and so much more). The tour started with a hike in a cypress grove, then moved south to a freshwater kayak, then finally a magical saltwater kayak at sunset in Florida Bay. We didn't see any other visitors all day - where else can you have a National Park to yourself? We saw two crocodiles, two alligators, several manatees, two sharks, egrets, herons, bald eagles, and a huge flock of ibises. If you are interested in nature, you will absolutely love this tour.
