It was frustrating that for many of the attractions you had to go somewhere else to stand in long lines to get the tickets. Then when you went to that attraction, you had to stand in even longer lines to get in.
This was a good package and the three things we saw Empire State, Top of Rock and Statue of Liberty all accepted the card. The only difficult thing to get 'cashed in' was the Statue of Liberty as you had to get one type of tickets in one place and then cash those tickets in in another place for the real ferry tickets. Seems a bit unnecessary to me but it wasn't that much of a problem.
We were rather disappointed about the service provided and misinformation. On the day we picked up the Explorer Pass for NYC, a small leaflet informed us where to pick up tickets for Ellis Island and Bus ride. However, that office had closed and we had to spend 2 hours going to Midtown to get hold of the tickets. Also, the pass seem overpriced (not real advantage of purchasing the pass compared to buyin tickets on the spot).
